About

Dan Fisher is a poet and visual artist who often combines language and text with the image. His work usually explores a maneuvering of the conditions that pervade our existence and the factors that add to the worry of non existence. Having spent the majority of his life in California, growing up in the San Fernando valley, graduating from UC Santa Cruz (Literature/Poetry BA), earning an MFA in Poetry from Mills College, and spending the last 20 plus years living in the Bay Area and working in Education for various higher education institutions, he now finds himself in a whole new set of conditions in the Finger Lakes region of New York with his partner and 2 kids.

For decades, Dan has always been making art and exploring the various worlds that it brings to light. What influences and inspires his creative palette is vast and numerous, and evolves and grows daily. A year or so prior to the Pandemic, he began drawing more regularly, and then during the Pandemic, his practice became more routine and life altering, and he began to make art for friends and family as a way of connecting and healing and laughing during that time. Others began to express interest in his work and he began to sell paintings and drawings and was sending them out all over the country.
